A concentrate is a highly concentrated cannabis extract in which the active and aromatic substances have been extracted from the plant material. Concentrates are significantly more potent than dried flowers and form the basis for dabbing.

How are concentrates made?

Broadly speaking, there are two methods: with solvent and without. In solvent extraction – for example, BHO with butane – the substances are chemically extracted. Solventless methods like Rosin, however, work only with heat and pressure, entirely without solvents.

The most important types of concentrate

  • Shatter – glass-like and hard.
  • Wax – soft and waxy.
  • Budder – creamy.
  • Rosin – solvent-free, obtained with heat and pressure.

How are concentrates consumed?

Most often, they are dabbed – vaporized on a hot banger and inhaled through an oil rig. Due to the high concentration, a very small amount is sufficient. Dosage is particularly important here.

Frequently asked questions

Are concentrates stronger than flower?
Significantly – the active ingredient content is many times higher. Dose accordingly small.

What is the difference between solvent and solventless?
Solvent uses a solvent like butane, solventless (e.g., Rosin) only heat and pressure.

Which concentrate is the "best"?
That's a matter of taste. Rosin is considered particularly clean by many because it is obtained without solvents.
