Buy a bowl – the right bong bowl from the glassblower
The bowl is the interface between you and your bong – and it determines more than many think: the draw, dosage, and how clean everything stays. A wobbly, thin-walled, mass-produced bowl won't bring long-term joy. At EHLE., you get handmade bowls made of thick-walled borosilicate glass, manufactured in our own workshop in Germany – with precisely fitting ground joints that sit perfectly.
What types of bowls are there?
- Funnel bowl – the classic: easy to fill, even draw, uncomplicated. Ideal for everyday use.
- Turbo bowl – with internal swirling that allows the material to burn more evenly.
- Purist bowl – minimalist and puristic, for those who like it direct and without frills.
- Screen slot bowl and Bowls with integrated screen – hold the material back, no more fumbling with loose screens.
What to look for when buying a bowl
Two things are crucial: the ground joint size and the workmanship. The ground joint (NS 14.5 or NS 18.8) must match your bong or adapter, otherwise the bowl won't sit tightly. And a cleanly crafted, thick-walled ground joint withstands temperature changes and daily use significantly better than thin glass. This is exactly what we value – every bowl is handcrafted and refined.
Frequently Asked Questions about Bowls
What is a bowl?
The bowl (also bong bowl or headpiece) is the attachment into which you fill your material. It is placed on top of your bong's adapter.
NS 14.5 or NS 18.8 – which one fits my bong?
This depends on the ground joint of your bong or adapter. NS 18.8 is larger and most common, NS 14.5 is more compact. When in doubt, measure the diameter of the joint – or ask us.
With or without a screen?
An integrated screen holds the material back and saves you from using a loose metal or glass screen. Cleaner and less pulling through – a good choice, especially for beginners.
Which shape is right for beginners?
A funnel bowl, ideally with an integrated screen. Uncomplicated to fill, forgiving of mistakes, and easy to keep clean.
How do I clean my bowl?
Rinse with warm water promptly after use, for heavier residue, soak briefly in cleaner. Easiest with our Organic Cleaner.
Can I use multiple bowls for one bong?
Certainly – as long as the ground joint size matches. Many people have a standard bowl for everyday use and a second one for special occasions.
Do you also make colored or custom bowls?
Yes. Many bowls are available with color accents, plus regularly limited "Best of" bowls. For custom requests, we have our Custom Orders.
