A plug-in chillum is a form of chillum that is not smoked individually, but rather inserted into a bong as a bowl. The name says it all: it is plugged in ("steck"). Instead of a removable bowl, the plug-in chillum directs the smoke directly into the water.

How does a plug-in chillum work?

The plug-in chillum is inserted into the top of the bong's joint. You fill the material into the upper funnel, the smoke is drawn down the tube into the water and filtered there. To "clear" the bong, the plug-in chillum – similar to a slide bowl – is pulled out so that fresh air flows in.

Plug-in chillum or classic chillum?

The difference lies in the use. A classic chillum is a standalone, waterless pipe. The plug-in chillum is part of the bong and uses its water filtration. Same basic shape, completely different function.

What to consider when buying?

The crucial factor is the appropriate joint size (NS 14 or NS 18) so that the plug-in chillum sits tightly in your bong. Plus, good glass and a cleanly crafted funnel. At EHLE., you get bowls and plug-in parts with precise workmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every plug-in chillum fit every bong?
Only with the same joint size. An adapter can be used to adjust sizes.

Do I need a screen?
A bong screen or a plug-in chillum with a narrow hole prevents material from falling through.

What is the advantage over a normal bowl?
The plug-in chillum directs the smoke deeper and more directly into the water. A bowl, on the other hand, is more flexibly exchangeable.
