A torch is a gas burner used to heat the banger when dabbing. Unlike a normal lighter, a torch provides a hot, focused flame that quickly brings the quartz glass up to temperature – the classic method when no E-Nail is involved.
Why isn't a normal lighter enough?
A banger needs to get significantly hotter than a lighter can provide – and do so evenly. A torch burns butane or propane with a concentrated flame and reaches the necessary temperatures in seconds. This is the only way for the quartz to heat up evenly enough to cleanly vaporize the concentrate.
